1. Low noise analog signal sensing functions combined with high speed digital functions (combining microcontrolers/FPGAs with low noise op-amps for frontend signal processing).
2. High power RF/microwave energy design for energy delivery to human tissue (combined with functions in item 1).
3. Low noise DC-DC converter design for low and high voltage applications (X-ray sources and PMT's).
4. Medium to high Power DC to DC converter and DC to AC inverter design.

Optics and Electro-Optical Frontend Design
This includes light source, lense, dichroic and filter design/component selection.
Design very low noise electro-optical electronic front ends for several applications (this includes photon microscopy and fluorescence microscopy).

Firmware Engineering:
Experience with a variety of RISC processors and DSPS.
Includes Microchip, T.I., ST Micro, and Analog Device processors.
C/C++ coding and assembly language.

FPGA Design:
Experience with Altera (Intel) and Xilinx FPGAs.
Use Verilog or VHDL for design entry.

EMC/EMI Compliance Design, Prescreening, and Testing:
Design and test to the IEC 60601-x-x and 61000-x-x standards.

Risk Management and Risk Assessment for Medical Devices:
Fully versed on the IEC14971 Standard for Risk Management.
Use the IEC60812 for risk assessment.
Use FMEA, Hazard Analysis, and FTA as sample techniques.

Requirements Management, Verification and Validation, Traceability:
Write systems level per marketing requirements.
Write hardware and software design requirements.
Write system level validation plans and protocols.
Write hardware and software verification plans and protocols (will perform the protocols if requested).
Write V and V test reports upon completion of the functions.
Perform development of trace matrices linking all of the above functions.
